We conduct elections for the Student Council every year, and they are similar to the elections that happen across the world for positions of power. It brings a lot of experience and skill development to our high school and middle school students and teaches them many values that they probably don’t learn in the classroom.
They understand the voting system, learn to conduct their own campaign, build their vocabulary, try to network with students and gather more votes, etc. But, above all, an election can also teach students to accept defeat graciously and stand up again with pride and determination.
