Research & Shortlisting — Start 3-4 Months Early
Admission season in Hyderabad typically begins between October and December for the following April academic year. However, the most competitive CBSE schools — especially those with residential programmes — begin filling seats as early as August and September.
The single most common mistake parents make is starting too late. If you are reading this in January or February and have not yet begun the process, start today. Seats in popular grades and the residential programme at PGS are limited.

Age Eligibility — CBSE Standard Criteria for 2026-27
CBSE sets a standard age eligibility criterion for all affiliated schools, based on the child's age as of 31st March 2026. This is mandatory and cannot be waived. Confirm your child's eligibility before beginning the application process.
Documents Checklist — Prepare These Before You Apply
Missing documents are the single most common cause of admission delays. Prepare originals and photocopies of all the following before beginning the formal application process.

- Child's birth certificate — original issued by Municipal Corporation or hospital
- Aadhaar card copies — child's Aadhaar and both parents' / guardians' Aadhaar cards
- 4–6 recent passport-size photographs of the child (colour, white background)
- Medical fitness certificate from a registered doctor
📁 Required for Grade 2+ (Transfers)
- Transfer Certificate (TC) — original, signed by Principal on school letterhead
- Previous academic year report card or progress report
- Migration Certificate — if transferring from another state

The Admission Assessment — What to Expect at PGS
This is not a competitive entrance examination — it is a placement tool designed to ensure your child is placed in the most appropriate class setting.
A playful, informal interaction session. Teachers observe communication, social behaviour, and developmental readiness. No formal test. No preparation needed.
Simple assessment covering English reading/comprehension and basic Mathematics at current grade level. No external coaching required.
Slightly more structured assessment covering core subject knowledge at current level. Bring last year's report card.
Stream selection discussion with our academic counsellor, plus a brief assessment aligned with the chosen stream (Science, Commerce, or Arts).
Admission Confirmation & Joining Formalities
- Review the admission letter carefully — confirm name spelling, date of birth, and grade are correct.
- Complete the enrolment formalities within the deadline specified in the letter to secure the seat.
- Collect the orientation pack — uniform requirements, book list, school timetable, transport route, and important dates.
- For residential students: complete the hostel registration form with the house master or house mistress.
